Valencia Coach Nuno Resigns after Sevilla defeat
Nuno has said at the press conference: “It was a pleasure to be Valencia’s coach”.

Valencia’s 1-0 defeat to Sevilla – during which they were reduced to nine-men – was noticeable for the lack of commitment and discipline of the visiting players, with Nuno revealing afterwards that he had come to the conclusion even before the game that his time in charge had probably come to an end.
Nuno, 41, leaves the side ninth in Primera Liga and third in Group H of the Champions League, still with a shot of progressing to the knock-out stages.
“I understand that the issue is pertinent, but I do not want to say too much in this regard”.
“We have the youngest squad in the league, and it is important Valencia follow through and believe in this project”.
“Tomorrow with the president and the owners there will be a meeting to clear the future”. The players seemed shocked by the move, but perhaps more the timing than the action, who knows. “And an owner I felt I could trust”. “In the game, we were adversely affected by the sending off. We found things hard after that”. We have three very talented goalkeepers at the club.

Valencia thus became a fourth La Liga club to change manager in this season after Las Palmas, city rival Levante, and Real Sociedad. I hope that I have given the players something to improve them and benefit their futures. Both Joao Cancelo and Javi Fuego were sent off for the visitors. I also want to thank Peter Lim, who is – and will continue to be – a friend of mine, and the fans of Valencia CF. “I do not want this to stop; I want VCF to get back amongst the biggest sides in Europe”.
