The Tulane University student stepped out of a vehicle, that’s when police say the man pointed his gun at gold, and demanded money.

He is then seen curling into a ball on the ground, before the gunman attempts to shoot him in the head.

The video was shot at 4 a.m. Friday and opens with a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt dragging a woman down the sidewalk to a parked SUV in the 1000 block of St. Mary Street, New Orleans police said in a press release. The woman was not injured.

But it could have been even worse for Mr Gold, a fourth year medical student from Tulane University, in New Orleans.

A 17-year-old girl who was in the New Orleans home that Cain was in when he was arrested has been charged with an accessory to attempted first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping and armed robbery, for allegedly hiding Cain, said Harrison said.

The suspect in the shooting of a Tulane medical student who was apparently coming to the aid of a crime victim is in custody, according to the police.

New Orleans Police said anyone with information about the man’s identity should call 6th District detectives at 504-658-6060 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.

The top cop in New Orleans has commended Gold who was committing an extremely “selfless act” when he intervened after seeing the woman being dragged early Friday. The woman was treated for minor injuries.

Gold’s friend and classmate Ryan O’Halloran told ABC News that it “Doesn’t surprise me that he would have pulled over his vehicle and attempted to save somebody”.

The scene caught the attention of Peter Gold who was driving by. We continue to keep Peter and the Gold family utmost in our thoughts and ask everyone to do the same.

“Peter did his undergraduate work at Tulane, where he was very active at Hillel”, Fitts said in a statement to WGNO News.

Tulane spokesman Mike Strecker released a statement Monday (Nov. 23) on behalf of the Gold family, regarding Peter Gold’s condition. “We again ask that everyone respect our family’s need for privacy during this hard time”.
