Kojima Productions Ending Says Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain VA
Now, Akio Otsuka, the Japanese voice actor for Solid Snake, has offered a heartfelt “goodbye” to Kojima Productions via Twitter, confirming the rumors that the studio will be disbanded as soon as Metal Gear Solid V is released. There’s no telling how this will end for Konami and Kojima, but there is sure to be more information once Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is officially released.

Konami has yet to address if the studio is actually closed, and Kojima seems to be blocked from addressing the issue publicly. This has caused quite a bit of stress for fans, who have been left in the dark as to what this means for the upcoming game as well as the Metal Gear franchise as a whole.
“Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is almost complete”, said Akio (tweet translated).
Kojima Productions recently showed a ton of gameplay footage at this year’s E3 Expo (an extended version of the “Free Infiltration” demo is available for viewing after the break), and while the overall reaction was positive, there has been one constant complaint. May this be come the greatest masterpiece without exaggeration!
Kojima Productions, founded by video-game legend Hideo Kojima, is a subsidiary of Konami and are responsible for creating the games from the Metal Gear series. I wanted to say “Kept you waiting” (laughs), but that was the last moment. The once proud company has been fumbling greatly in the eyes of its fans, and Metal Gear Solid 5 isn’t the only game that has been negatively impacted by the mess. At the moment, there has been no word from Konami regarding the status of the development studio. Kojima had also left the executive management.
