And do not try to contact Santa to ride on a float, as Cabot City Beautiful has a long-term contract with Santa Claus to ride in the parade, Webber said.

On the first Friday in December every year, The Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce and local merchants teamed up for a special Christmas kick-off event in the Sonoma Plaza. “This new process will ensure we provide a more seamless experience for all guests, as it drastically reduces wait time, and allows families to better enjoy their annual visit to Santa and the mall during the holiday season”.

Following Santa’s visit, the DPA will initiate the second annual Christmas Tree Light Up at 4 p.m.at Gyro Park.

Lorraine McKenzie stood at the beginning of the parade route and watched her daughter, Vydellia, march with the band and play her flute. And the light parade is not only just for Chamber members. Several Girl Scout Troops as well as organizations such as Hospice Care of Middletown, Sojourner’s and Women Enriching Lives are among those that will participate.

“We love the Parade of Lights”, Gumke said.

All the same, performers have ambitions to work the biggest events and be seen by the most people.

The tree lighting in Memphis is also set for 7 p.m. and will take place along Potter Street, just down the block from city hall. “We have chosen “Put a Jingle in Your Step” as our theme this year”.

4 My favorite Christmas song is “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer”.

Fireworks are scheduled for 5:15 p.m. and will be visible from the parking lot behind Renys. Proceeds go to the Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry.

For one man, things are about to get very, very busy. It brings commerce to our local community. Before the Holiday Parade on Saturday Dec 5 an antique fire truck with at big Toys for Tots banner will be parked on the common to collect donations of new unwrapped toys for children 12 and under.

“I’m anxious he is going to be scary”, Faith said. They were exhausted and figured they’d be back in the morning to wrestle Santa down to their moorage and onto their boat. “Parents need to know that seating is limited and free tickets will only be offered for the number of available seats”.
