After meeting then four-year-old Mutsu Potsane, the prince was inspired to set up his own charity called Sentebale to provide long-term support to children, who have lost their parents, New Zealand Herald reports.

Britain’s Prince Harry takes a walk during a visit at the Mamohato Children’s centre in Maseru, Lesotho on 26 November 2015.

“I, like them, knew there would always be a gaping hole that could never be filled”, said Prince Harry of his mother’s dead in 1997.

As reported by Iafrica, the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup is in its sixth year and was originally founded as a charity event by Prince Harry, together with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.

They added: “Sentebale continues to work hard to help the children of Lesotho affected by HIV/Aids; the opening of the Mamohato Children’s Centre is a great milestone for the charity and for Lesotho”.

Sentebale means “forget me not” in the local dialect and was chosen in memory of Harry and Seeiso’s mothers.

During his visit, Prince Harry also caught up with Mutsu, the boy he first met during his trip in 2004, and with whom he has maintained a special relationship since.

He gave the little boy, who helped him plant a tree during a photocall, a pair of bright blue wellington boots, which the youngster refused to be parted from at the time.

“I felt very happy, very excited”, the now-teenager said via a translator after the sweet reunion.

Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend was now in Cape Town, working on a new jewelry line she’s about to launch. The gala event, hosted in Paarl today, in his honour of a Lesotho Aids Charity, Sentebale.

It can accommodate up to 96 children and their carers and has a dining hall, medical centre, welcome block and other facilities.

At a conference in South Africa, Unicef said despite gains made among adults and babies with HIV, the number of 10 to 19-year-olds dying from Aids-related diseases has tripled since 2000.
