Sonos has announced upcoming support for Apple Music, with the beta for such being scheduled to kick off on December 15.

Streaming music and Sonos speakers go together like peanut butter and jelly, which is why Apple Music’s absence from Sonos’s list of supported streaming services was perplexing.

The music service, available initially as a public beta, will give subscribers the ability to stream all their favorite aspects of Apple Music, including For You, New, Radio, and My Music. They will be able to control Apple Music using the Sonos app, which will allow access to features like For You, New, My Music, and Radio, though not to Connect. For people who don’t, this is nothing that will change your life… unless you suddenly feel the urge to get both Sonos and Apple Music, in which case-enjoy the music. Sonos cofounder and CEO John MacFarlane told BuzzFeed that more than 90 percent of music listened to through Sonos speakers comes from streaming services.

The beta represents the first time Apple has partnered with an audio manufacturer in order to extend the functionality of its Apple Music service. A final version will be released early next year. And it could also help bring more subscribers to Apple’s service as well.

Apple Music and Sonos are recruiting music lovers to help redefine how to fill homes with Apple Music on Sonos starting December 15.

It’s far more likely that some Beats Music users on Android have waited until now to transfer as Apple Music only recently came to the platform, and the process is very similar.
