He vowed that gang factions involved in the killing and the other retaliatory acts had signed their own ” death warrants”.

A report in The Chicago Tribune said the police questioned Morgan two days after Tyshawn’s killing but released him.
According to the charges, Morgan and the two other suspects were members and known shooters of the BBG (Bang Bang Gang)/Terror Dome faction of the Black P Stones faction.
An uncharged suspect took Tyshawn’s basketball, gave it back and then walked with him into alley off Damen, where he was shot at close range, prosecutors said.

The feud came to a boil after an October 13 shooting in which Morgan’s brother, Tracey Morgan was killed and his mother was wounded.
Afterwards, the guy and Lee supposedly went to the street together, followed by the black SUV that Morgan as well as the other guy were seen getting into, prosecutors said.
The other, Kevin Edwards, is still at-large.
The fourth-grader was lured from a playground into an alley just doors from his home and fatally shot in the side of his head.
“This murder was committed in a cold, calculated and premeditated manner”, Canellis said.
“There is nothing this court can do. You get rid of that element”, he said.
McCarthy said the three men’s precise roles were still under investigation, but that all were members of the same gang.

The investigating officer, Sergeant William Svilar, said that, while residents were terrified of retaliation, the local community had rallied to help detectives.

With recent rival gang shootings, police believe that Tyshawn was lured into the alley and executed due to his father Pierre Stokes’ gang ties.
