Terps Remain No. 2 In Top 25 Basketball Polls
UConn remains No. 1 after winning its lone game of the week. California, which lost to San Diego State and Richmond in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, dropped out from 14th, while Notre Dame, which lost to Monmouth and Alabama in the AdvoCare Invitational, fell out from 17th. They’re also 92 votes behind Gonzaga at 13, who they would’ve faced in the Battle 4 Atlantis final if not for the Bulldogs’ loss the Aggies the day before.

No. 2 Maryland, No. 3 Michigan State and No. 11 Purdue were the only Big Ten teams ranked this week. The Cardinals and Pittsburgh are the other two teams in the conference without a loss.
West Virginia entered the poll at 20th and Providence, Louisville and Baylor filling the last three spots. Current members Villanova and Xavier are in the rankings along with former members Cincinnati and Miami.
After conquering Atlantis, Syracuse sets out to conquer the polls. The ACC has Duke, North Carolina and Virginia in the Top 10. Kansas led 5 Big 12 teams within the Top 25 at No. four, moving up one spot from No. 5 after profitable the Maui Invitational. The Southeastern, Pac-12 and American Athletic have two teams each.
