Rockets fire head coach McHale
“Now, it’s up to us to start winning”. I think you just watch our team play and its not that hard (to see), Morey said. “We will change until it works”.

It’s just one win but the Rockets have something to build on.
“I can just judge on how their team did”, Stevens said.
Finch is also in his fifth season with the Rockets after spending two seasons as head coach of the Rockets NBA Development League affiliate, Rio Grande Valley.
“Extremely surprised that McHale was let go”, Carlisle said.
“He’ll have some opportunities in TV, and maybe when the dust settles I can get him out to teach the slippery eel to Kelly (Olynyk) and Sully (Jared Sullinger) and Amir (Johnson)”.
Though McHale led the Rockets to the Western Conference Finals last season and compiled a 193-130 record in four-plus seasons with the franchise, his position had become increasingly tenuous following blowout losses in their last four games.
The 21-year-old rookie was an outstanding collegiate player and was one of the most anticipated prospects ahead of the 2015 NBA Draft because of what Wisconsin has achieved in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). “We’re losing in double digits to teams we need to beat if we want to make the Western Conference Finals”, Morey said. Harden further stated that his “ears are just locked in and focused in on what he’s saying” since Kevin McHale had a championship history as a player with the Boston Celtics.
Considering how the Rockets are reliant on the three point shot, we can see why they’re losing. The Rockets won 108-103, though, and it would have been silly of him to complain about his role when the team was celebrating.

James Harden scored all nine of the Rockets’ points in overtime to help them end a four-game skid. The same roster as a year ago added dynamic point guard Ty Lawson, but the team has not really gelled and McHale complained about the effort of the team and its sloppy play. McHale got fired, and might be getting a job with the Boston Celtics pretty soon, teaming up with Danny Ainge in some front office capacity, which might be more up McHale’s alley anyway. Depending on how things go in Charlotte, they might be targeting Steve Clifford to be his predecessor.
