Garry Monk labels Liverpool’s penalty “very soft”
Liverpool’s James Milner scores a penalty during the English Premier League match between Liverpool and Swansea.

“Maybe I should feel we have momentum, but I don’t”, he said.
“We scored a very important goal and defended really well – Simon Mignolet didn’t have that much work to do – so it was a big plus for the whole team”.
That deal came after a terrific season in which he guided them to eighth place, their highest league finish since 1982.
“As a fan I always enjoyed the Boxing Day (football)”.
“It is massive. They are two top players and any team in the league would miss them, it is great they are back”, Milner added.
“If I want to know something about Liverpool I can read Marco Polo”.
Milner lifted his spot-kick into the top of the net with just under half an hour remaining after Neil Taylor handled Jordon Ibe’s cross.
Under-pressure Swansea boss Garry Monk was defiant in defeat, insisting his side did not perform like a team which has won just once since the end of August.
“Anyone who suggests that would be very stupid”, he said. But, of course, results are the be-all and end-all. And ultimately, the Anfield faithful would get the three points they wanted.

Monk argued otherwise, claiming the left-back was not even looking at the ball but the manager was ignoring that Taylor’s raised hand had blocked the delivery from entering the zone of uncertainty between goalkeeper and defence.
“We were never in any danger”. They played 20 and 24 minutes respectively as second half substitutes.
“I thought it was an extremely soft penalty”.
When asked if the result would prove a catalyst for better things at Stamford Bridge, Dunphy gave a characteristically curt response, and was far from complimentary of the struggling Cesc Fabregas. “The results haven’t been good enough, but that didn’t look like a team in trouble, did it?”
The news comes after both Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson returned to action during the victory over the Wales side following spells on the sidelines.
JURGEN KLOPP EXPECTS the talents of Philippe Coutinho to be on display when Liverpool travel to face Southampton in the League Cup quarter-final.
“Now I think he’s fit”.

The German summed that moment up as “how it feels” around the club – with the two-week worldwide break the only thing having given him respite from a chaotic fixture schedule – but declared that they “will be ready” for the Southampton game regardless.
