James Harden scores season-high 50 in Rockets’ win against Sixers

Rockets ball hawking point guard Patrick Beverly took the game over with his relentless defensive play and after going scoreless in the first three quarter, sharpshooter Marcus Thornton scored 18 points in the 4th quarter and overtime.

James Harden drained a season-high 50 points as the Houston Rockets held on to beat winless Philadelphia 116-114, handing the 76ers their record 27th straight loss. Andre Drummond, who was leading the league with 17.8 rebounds per game, finished with seven for the Pistons.

The Knicks look to stop their four game skip at home against Philadelphia on Tuesday. Kristaps Porzingis had his eighth double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Hawks power forward Paul Millsap had a double-double, which consisted of 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Mike Conley was the Grizzlies’ top-scorer with 16 points. The defeat makes it 27 in a row.

Clippers 111, Pelicans 90: Blake Griffin and J.J. Redick each scored 20 points before sitting out the fourth quarter in Los Angeles’ win. The Dream Shake reported that for a team that’s now having the worst season, the Houston Rockets still managed to nearly squander the game and lose.

NY led 54-41 at halftime, holding Houston to 34.1% shooting from the field.

Jerami Grant was a factor too, as his 18 points tied a career-high.

Sixers set dubious mark with 116-114 loss to Rockets
