Jamie Vardy: Leicester striker launches non-league academy
Van Gaal’s perceived style of play, lacking tempo and a creative edge, has come in for criticism from supporters and pundits.

“When it comes down to the last game you can’t pick and choose and say we want to finish first or second, it’s all or nothing”.
“Our defensive organisation is normally the best part of our game”.
Vardy, Premier League top scorer with 13 goals, has been working for many months on the project with his long-time agent John Morris, of Key Sports.
The Dutchman was more forthcoming when asked about Leicester’s title chances, however. With 28 goals, it has scored more often than any other team this season.
In an age when youngsters are recruited by leading clubs before they have even mastered the art of shoelace-tying, Jamie Vardy’s rise to prominence with Leicester City is an exceptional story.
Some of the Premier League’s star strikers have spend some time on the physio’s table this season, leaving them fewer chances to score, but a look at the minutes/goal table shows that Vardy’s still a class above nearly anyone else in the league – sitting second in the table, just 36 seconds/goal slower than last year’s Golden Boot victor Sergio Aguero and more than 10 minutes/goal ahead of the third striker on the list (Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud, if you’re interested).
But perhaps the most talked about subject will be Jamie Vardy’s consecutive goalscoring record. Vardy’s strength is his flawless movement and short passes, with which he creates space to get inside the box.
Vardy’s roguish streak occasionally caused him problems – he was sent off four times in his last season at Stocksbridge, deterring suitors Sheffield United – and he had trouble controlling his temper off the pitch.
Five years ago, Vardy was playing amateur football for Stocksbridge Park Steels in England’s seventh tier and working part-time at a factory making medical splints. But rather than be trepidacious, the Foxes’ unexpected safety net of points means they’ve little to lose, so they can play with abandon.
Schneiderlin moved to United in a £25m deal from Southampton in the summer. This will force him to attempt long distance shots, his weakest area, through which he has scored no goals, from 0.8 attempts per game. Wayne is doing a lot, has a very great contribution in the team.
Now on form, Lingard is one of our better players on form so it would be absolutely typical for him to have suffered an injury.
Leicester’s all-round game this season has been fantastic. In another side would they be the king or something else? Midfielder Matty James is expected to miss out due to a knee injury, while United will be without the service of Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Andre Herrera, Michael Carrick and Phil Jones due to injury concerns.
