Mark Richt: ‘There wasn’t enough confidence that my leadership could get it
You can’t have the excitement and the cheering without the other.

“If things fell apart and things that are out of our control happen, you have to have relationships with other people as a backup or a “Plan B” or whatever you want to call it”, Tony Eason said.
I’m willing to bet that what Georgia gets is a bunch of 5-7 or 6-6 seasons, while they wander aimlessly in the SEC desert. I respect that. I think it got to the point where there wasn’t enough confidence in my leadership to get it done. “But it didn’t work that way”, said Richt. Perhaps Coach Richt should have sung a chorus of “Glory, Glory to Old Georgia” after his Bulldogs defeated Georgia Tech on Saturday.
KENTUCKY: Junior quarterback Patrick Towles will transfer after starting 10 games this season, coach Mark Stoops said. “We had a good mature, adult conversation on Sunday morning for about an hour and a half or so”. The school knew it, the media knew it, and the fans, who I will allow into this conversation, knew it. I’m just thankful we’re going to a bowl, it’s a great experience.
There has been speculation about Richt’s future since losses to Tennessee, Alabama and Florida ended the Bulldogs’ hopes for a SEC championship.
As for the bowl game, the school is giving Richt the chance to still coach that game, and he says he’s ‘thankful for that opportunity’.
For a lot of Georgia students, Richt is the only coach they have ever associated with Georgia.
And if there was any doubt what kind of man, Coach Richt was, here’s a story from Josh, about a meeting in Athens some six years after his Bulldog career. “I think there are going to be a lot of options to weigh”. He had yet to sign the contract, but McGarity said the school would honor the deal.
Days after Al Golden was sacked in October, Richt was asked for his thoughts on the newly open job at his alma mater. Landing Richt would be a huge gain for the Terps, but does he want to go from Georgia, a SEC powerhouse, to Maryland, a program trying to right the ship.
“I think that there’s like a place for that on a football team, but I don’t know if that’s like the head coach’s job”, said Watson.
“That’s the standard here”, Richt said. “Our fans are passionate”. Mark has tremendous support. Obviously, with the way that Mark connects with people, sure, I’ve been the recipient of emails on both sides. “It goes with the territory”. Foster not only ensures Fuente will have a dependable coach managing the defense, which should remain one of the top defensive units in the ACC as long as he stays put. “Good husband, good father, good citizen of our country, and hopefully a leader”.
