The police are also verifying reports alleging Khan’s involvement in a human-organ trafficking racket at Jammu and Kashmir, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav, adding that the police are now clueless in connection with that matter.

The Delhi Police have been tight-lipped about the link between Khan and Rasheed and some of the other modules busted in the country.

Rasheed, posted with the Border Security Force’s intelligence wing, was arrested together with Kafaitullah Khan alias Master Raja of Rajouri district on the cost of acquiring secret info associated to India’s national safety and passing it on to the Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan. He was handed over to the police for further investigation.

Based on tip-off about ongoing anti-national activities sponsored by Pakistan Intelligence Operative, who reportedly had a network spread over civilian handlers and security force personnel, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch developed a network and a few suspects were identified, said a senior police official.

Thereafter, surveillance was mounted over the members and evidence collected. Crucial documents were recovered from him.

According to the police, Kafaitullah told them that he was working as a library assistant at a higher secondary school at Manjakote. His father visited Pakistan previous year to meet relatives.

On being interrogated, Khan revealed that he had visited Pakistan in 2013, Yadav said.

Sources said, “Many retired army officers have been put under scanner who are suspected to be part of ISI and are active in luring the serving Indian army men to become double agents”.

Kafaitullah was taken to Rajouri to identify his accomplices and a thorough search of his house was conducted. ISI had also obtained the exact location and strength of two Rashtriya Rifles units and deployment of BSF units in Poonch, Mendhar and Rajouri through the agents.

“Once we get some leads with further interrogation of the accused duo arrested so far, we shall have to approach the Union Ministry of External Affairs for their permission to question staff at the High Commission’s office”, he added.
