The team early Monday afternoon announced that Hurns is in the NFL’s concussion protocol program, and that his status will be updated Wednesday. Hurns injury is apparently a concussion however he is already out of the hospital.

The 159 games it took Rivers to reach the 40,000-yard mark is more than only Drew Brees (152), Dan Marino (153) and Peyton Manning (154) in National Football League history.

The Chargers went up 7-6 on a first quarter touchdown and although there were a couple of lead changes after that, the Jaguars played from behind for the entire second half. The Jaguars had 11 snaps inside the 20-yard line against the Chargers and they were all passes by quarterback Blake Bortles. Hurns has played in 27 consecutive games since making the team as an undrafted free agent from Miami.

The next step in their growing relationship could be to make Thomas the top target in the red zone. The second-year pro, a former undrafted rookie from Miami, has 48 receptions for 758 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

-PASS DEFENSE: F. Philip Rivers torched the Jaguars for 300 passing yards, four touchdowns and no picks.

“I just feel like we’ve got to execute better”, said defensive tackle Roy Miller after the game. Dontrelle Inman, meanwhile, had five catches for 65 yards.

“That’s really their full attention, is to get those areas right”, Bradley said, adding, “I don’t want to be naïve”.

FYI: Former Broncos’ offensive coordinator and current Chargers head coach Mike McCoy is 1-3 against his former team.

Yeldon has just two 100-yard games this season and has run for 621 yards. “That was the story of the game”, Bradley said. “I think it was only for precaution and he’s going to be fine”. He carried just nine times for 36 yards.

After the Chargers intercepted a Blake Bortles pass deep in Jaguars’ territory, it was the same combination of Rivers to Gates, this time from 12 yards out, to give the Chargers a 21-9 halftime advantage.

After the game he told reporters, “I don’t know from a coach’s perspective what you tell a guy that does that, ‘Quit being an idiot?’ I don’t know. I don’t know. I’ve never done that in my life and I did it twice today”. It all starts with us as coaches.
