“That’s why, even as the United States accepts more refugees-including Syrians-we do so only after they undergo the most rigorous screening and security vetting of any category of traveler to the United States”, it said.
Those calling for states to pull out of the program would be “signing a death warrant for tens of thousands of families”, said Lavinia Limon, president and CEO of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.
Two USA states say they will block or suspend a program to resettle Syrian refugees within their borders, citing security concerns after Friday’s wave of deadly Paris attacks.
In Manila, where he is attending the 23rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, Obama criticized the “rhetoric” of Republican Party leaders over the refugee crisis, accusing them of being “scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America”.
Sessions argues the overall plan calls for resettling at least 85,000 more refugees worldwide and “an unlimited amount of money to be spent on lifetime welfare and benefits … without a penny of offsets”. My heart goes out to the refugees and I do think we have a noble tradition of supporting refugees. Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders said they were willing to accept refugees. “We don’t make good decisions if its based on hysteria or an exaggeration of risks”.
Those fleeing Syria and other war ravaged countries whose claims have been investigated and who have been invited to live in the United States are considered refugees.
“Authorities need to investigate what happened in Europe before this problem comes to the United States”, Jindal wrote to Obama.
Kano says Refugee One is aware of 21 Syrian refugees in the pipeline to come to IL, the first set to arrive in December. His press secretary added “that MI stands ready to work with them on that process”.
McCaul said legislation was necessary because the president was unlikely to halt the program.

“After full consideration of this weekend’s attacks of terror on innocent citizens in Paris, I will oppose any attempt to relocate Syrian refugees to Alabama”, said Robert Bentley, governor of the southern USA state.
