Thaddeus Young posts second straight double-double for Nets

The Pistons got a taste of how ugly things would be if they lost that edge on the glass to begin the weekend, and they’ll try to end it by recovering Sunday night in a visit to the Brooklyn Nets.

NY – reserve guard was mired in a deep shooting slump before Sunday night’s game against the.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Nets are 4.5-point home underdogs versus the Pistons while the total now sits at 193.5 points. Last night (against Cleveland), we played well and didn’t win.

After slumping for four games, shooting 1-of-13 on 3-pointers, forward Anthony Tolliver has bounced back, going 9-of-16 in his last three games. “We know how each of us likes to play and how we have high expectations from ourselves and for our team, so we’re trying to be a good foundation and example for all the guys”.

“We definitely had to grind it out”, Lopez said.

“It felt like I cracked the code tonight”, Ellington said.

Nets GM Billy King, fairly at the center of fan criticism for trading 11 first-round picks (including Derrick Favors and pick swaps) for Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in an effort to satisfy his Russian ownership’s desire to win now, was the one who hired Hollins, giving the former 56-game victor in Memphis a four-year contract that could be worth around $20 million if Brooklyn picks up his fourth-year option. They got away from us a couple of times, and it could’ve been easy to just let go, and let them get up by 15 points. “We did a good job of not turning the ball over for a long time”.

“This was a hard-fought game”, Hollins said. “We were very inconsistent tonight and somehow we won”.

ABOUT THE PISTONS (8-8): Center Andre Drummond leads the league in rebounding (17.1) and double-doubles (14), but he is not immune to criticism from head coach Stan Van Gundy.

Thaddeus Young led the Nets with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Forward added 13 points, and guard had 11 for the winners. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 21 points and seven rebounds. Individually Drummond had more offensive rebounds (10) than the entire Nets team (7).

The Pistons took management of the sport halfway via the second quarter and held a 41-35 halftime lead, because of eight totally different Detroit gamers making their approach into the scorebook.

NOTES: The Pistons were once again without G (torn left Achilles tendon) and G (right foot fracture). The opposite is Pelicans PF. …
