LSU wins in Miles’ potential last game

“The season’s completed and I want to make it very clear and positive that Les Miles is our football coach and will continue to be our football coach”, Alleva said.

LSU came back in the second half, after trailing 7-6 at halftime, to beat Texas A&M, 19-7, in the last game of the 2015 regular season as the Tigers finish 8-3.

Les Miles is staying at LSU. I have talked with coach Miles about our program.

Fournette, who was one of Miles’ prized 2014 recruits, finished the game owning LSU’s single-season rushing record at 1,741 yards, surpassing the mark of 1,686 yards set by Charles Alexander in 1977.

Though Fournette piled up 159 yards and notched the game-clinching touchdown, Guice provided the go-ahead score with his team trailing 7-6 midway through the third quarter.

The most likely convincing factor, however, was the top-rated recruiting class that LSU boasts for next season. National media and LSU fans have been assuming for weeks that Les Miles was gone, with most of the speculation centering on current Florida State and former LSU assistant Jimbo Fisher.

The question is how deep the changes will go because both coordinators and special teams coach Bradley Dale Peveto faced as much criticism as their head coach during the Tigers’ recent slump.

“The motor seems to be pretty stinking strong”, Miles said of Fournette. Somewhere in the middle of a three hour plus Les Miles lovefest, a football game was played. “You are our coach.’ Joe Alleva followed that up after, ‘I want you to be our coach.’ It was magnificent”. He had vowed not to comment on Miles’ status until after the season, but his silence had been interpreted by many to mean Miles’ days at LSU were numbered. We thought as a team that he deserved to win. The Tiger’s have had consistently poor quarterback play and a far too heavy reliance on the run game. This is something that Joe wants to work towards fully, and I’m right with him. Even though LSU is letting him back they should be ashamed for dragging one of the greatest coaches in SEC History through the mud over the last week.

“It’s not right to win occasionally”, Miles said. If he can get consistent production from the quarterback position, there is no reason Miles can’t secure his long-term job security this time next year. I now know what it’s like to ride an elephant.

Running back Derrius Guice’s electrifying runs, defensive end Arden Key’s relent pressure and defensive back Donte Jackson’s tight man coverage each made a splash in the Tigers’ bounce-back win against the Aggies (8-4, 4-4 SEC) in Tiger Stadium. “My expectations are so high”.

Miles also foreshadowed potential changes on his coaching staff, saying it “would be a natural contemplation”. I just love going to that stadium when everybody out here, 104,000, believe that in fact you should kick somebody’s behind.
