Setting the tone on a chilly, dreary day, New York’s first two possessions ended when passes by Manning went in and out of receivers’ hands and were picked off – first by linebacker Perry Riley Jr., then by cornerback Will Blackmon. And although the Redskins did not convert any of those three picks into points on the ensuing drives, the takeaways built momentum for Washington and prevented Manning from getting into a rhythm. We just have to stay consistent in our approach and I think we have for the most part. “I feel like when we’re on, we’re on and when we’re off, we’re off, so we just have to be consistent with that light switch”. Put it any way you want, opportunity is knocking – loudly – for the Giants. It is time for the New York Giants to head in a different direction after the season is finished.

Beckham, who holds the 2014 title of Offensive Rookie of the Year, has said that his left hand – the hand that he caught Sunday’s ball with – is his weakest, but he’s working to strengthen it.

There’s little more the Giants can do. He threw another one in the second half, when they had a chance to score.

“I mean, all week I watched film”, Dunbar said. “And when you go against an Eli Manning offense, that’s what you have to do, you have to take them off the field”.

A strong pass rush by the Redskins aided Washington’s secondary by disrupting Manning throughout the game.

-LB Ryan Kerrigan had two sacks giving him 6.5 for the season.

The Redskins extended their home winning streak to five games for the first time since 2004-05 seasons (Week 17 in 2004, Weeks 1-9 in 2005).

“That one’s on me”, he said.

“We waited until the fourth quarter to start playing, and by then it was over”, Pierre-Paul said. “I don’t know everyone else’s mindset but we came out slow”.

Washington actually wasn’t really projected to be a victor in this division.

Brandon Tate spent two seasons with the Patriots after New England selected the wide receiver in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. However, the five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter would not prove enough, as the Redskins ran out a 6 point win.

The Redskins led 20-0 early in the fourth quarter before Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw two touchdown passes.

For all of their deficiencies and inconsistency, Jay Gruden’s Washington Redskins are right there at the top of the NFC East.

Kirk Cousins – he of the “YOU LIKE THAT” memes – has been nothing short of impressive at FedEx field and now that the Redskins quarterback, finally, has some down-the-field threats available to him (welcome back DeSean Jackson) he can start to show off a bit of throwing powers.

“We came out today, knew what was at stake and just played our butts off”, Morris said. The results of their loss have given the NFC East duo-leadership between the Giants and the Washington Redskins, as both teams now stand with a 5-6 record leading into the final stretch of the regular season.
