“It’s a very good and bright holiday that symbolizes the victory, the triumph of light over dark”, Putin said. Over the past 2 months, nearly daily Palestinian attacks have killed 19 Israelis while at least 97 Palestinians have been killed, including 62 said by Israel to be attackers.
After numerous foreign media reports of the Israel Air Force (IAF) striking targets in Syria, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that Israel has indeed operated there.
Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel acts in Syria “from time to time”.
On the sidelines of the summit, Netanyahu also briefly met with the newly elected leader of Canada, Justin Trudeau, and Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, inviting both leaders to visit Israel.
He also called the battle against the savagery and barbarism of Islamic terror “another point of contact”, saying he’s “very satisfied” with the level of military coordination between the two countries. According to the Prime Minister’s Office Netanyahu and Abe “exchanged opinions on the war on global terrorism”.
