Atlanta police are in the area of the Aloft Hotel near West Peachtree and Baker streets in downtown for a SWAT situation.

Atlanta police are investigating an exchange of gunfire with officers that left one man dead.
The incident happened near the Aloft Hotel on Spring Street in downtown Atlanta.
Police say the driver and passenger jumped out and ran but officers immediately caught the driver.
A short while later, the passenger was found dead behind dumpsters with a. 45 caliber weapon by his side.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which investigates some officer-involved shootings when agencies make a request, is not investigating this case, GBI spokesman Scott Dutton told The Associated Press. “There were shell casings near the body. That weapon and shell casings have been taken into custody”.

Three officers are believed to have been involved in the shooting, Lee said, but he could not confirm that number. In one video, taken by someone named “Montay”, multiple gunshots could be heard.
