Michigan State will face Iowa in Big 10 Championship

With the win against Penn State now in the books, MSU football is focusing on an even bigger game as they head to the Big Ten Championship and there’s a lot more than just pride hanging in the balance in the playoff game, millions of dollars are at stake as well.

“We’re down right now, but we can always come back”, Chesson said.

Ohio State’s loss to Michigan State last week took destiny out of its hands because the sixth-ranked Spartans would win a head-to-head tiebreaker. The only Big Ten team to have as many trips to Indianapolis as MSU is Wisconsin.

It was the fifth consecutive win for the Wildcats, putting them in position for a January 1 bowl game.

Michigan State defeated Penn State today to end the regular season at 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the Big Ten East Division. “I’m extremely grateful to be around them, and I think Buckeye nation should be proud of this group”.

Jordan Canzeri ran for two long touchdowns and finished with 140 rushing yards for the Hawkeyes (12-0, 8-0 Big Ten) who will be hoping to keep their undefeated streak going when they face Michigan State next week.

“I strive to be the ultimate team player, ” Elliott said. The selection committee protocol emphasizes conference titles – and Ohio State can’t win one.

MI (9-3, 6-2 Big Ten) kept it close early and was down only 14-10 at halftime.

“The biggest thing is they were getting exhausted and they weren’t getting lined up”, Elliott said.

Without an opportunity to play for a conference championship, Ohio State’s chances at a berth in the College Football Playoff are slim. “From the bottom of my heart, I told these players that might be the best win I’ve ever seen”. I don’t know what they’re talking about. “I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future”. They flirted with losing several times, and were one play away from losing to MI.

Penn State scored nine seconds into the fourth quarter on Hackenberg’s five-yard hookup with Godwin.

“This is what we’ve been working for since January – we’ve been talking about it, now it’s time to speak it into existence”, MSU sophomore safety Montae Nicholson said of a dream that seemed distant just three weeks earlier after a 39-38 loss at Nebraska.

The songs and chants rang through the massive bowl one after another, 10,000 or so fans in scarlet piercing the otherwise quiet and mostly evacuated Michigan Stadium. He lost starting quarterback Malik Zaire (broken ankle) in Week 2 and starting running back Tarean Folston (knee) in Week 1; injuries continued to pile up through last week, when the Irish lost cornerback KeiVarae Russell (broken tibia) and running back C.J. Prosise, who watched Saturday’s game on crutches. He ran more than he passed. Barrett was nine of 15 for 113 yards, including a 25-yard TD pass to Jalin Marshall that capped the first drive of the second half to give Ohio State a 21-10 lead. Rudock and Bosa played together at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Cook went 19 of 26 for 248 yards. Selecting Ohio State was solid on several fronts.

The big unanswered question, despite bouncing back in a big way, was why Ohio State couldn’t have played like this against Michigan State. “You can’t turn the ball over and make critical errors against a top team like this”. “More ground to make up”.

This just wasn’t the year for MI to gain an edge in The Game.
