New heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury given hero’s welcome
Newly crowned heavyweight world boxing champion Tyson Fury waits to answer questions as he hosts a media day in Bolton, England, Monday, Nov. 30, 2015.

“I just want to go home, get my feet up, put the television on, and have a jam sandwich”, said Fury. He had been anxious that his drug test, which boxers have to undergo after a fight, could be sabotaged. Fury, who surprised everyone by defeating Wladimir Klitschko over the weekend, said that he might even resort to giving up one of his championship belts rather than fight the former champion Haye.
“I was on the grass one Sunday, it was a lovely sunny afternoon, and him and Shane asked me to spar with them”.
“There are a few world champions now up here – me, Anthony Crolla, Terry Flanagan, Scott Quigg, and if I’ve missed anybody out then I apologise, but I don’t think I have. Everyone said I couldn’t last the distance with Wladimir Klitschko”. We’re still not sure what to make of this dude – he’s undefeated at 25-0, but how good is he really?
Tyson Fury is basking in the glow of his new status as a boxing world champion.
Although a rematch has been written into the contract between the two men, and Klitschko simply remarked, “It’s to be continued”, tweeting, “I still don’t believe I actually lost”.
The victory was orchestrated with a fine gameplan that saw Fury make the champion look every one of his 39 years.
The 27-year-old trains at the Macron Stadium in Horwich and returned to the arena for his first United Kingdom press conference where he was given a hero’s welcome. Nothing was ever proven, and Klitschko defeated Brewster in a rematch in 2007.

I’ve had no contact with them [Klitschko’s team] since the fight but they’ve got a window to decide whether they want to step up or down. You can never be too careful’. He serenaded Klitschko with his own version of the Bette Midler song “Wind Beneath My Wings” on Wednesday, and he celebrated beating him by singing Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” in the ring to his wife Paris, who is expecting their third child. If I don’t fight again, I’ll know I’ve achieved what I set out to do. I’ve had a full six months of it. It’s like winning the lottery and still buying lottery tickets – I’m not bothered. “All I’m interested in doing is impressing the big fella upstairs”.
