The couple announced their engagement previous year, several months after they were introduced by their mutual friend, musician Ed Sheeran.
HollywoodLife.com broke the news of the split, with a source telling the publication that Cox was “devastated”.
The pair became engaged in June 2014 after six months of dating. She said: “Coco is very excited about the wedding”.
She also told Ellen DeGeneres in August that her 11-year-old daughter was planning her wedding.
Insiders say Cox is deeply depressed and refuses to confirm the breakup publicly until she’s certain that McDaid can’t be persuaded to change his mind.
