One Can’t Fight (Fury) And One Didn’t (Klitschko)

The 27-year-old Fury has blurted out, or tweeted, some controversial comments in recent times.

Whether he fancies Wilder remains to be seen, with Fury initially deriding the 30-year-old, three years his senior, calling him “a basketball player who took up boxing a couple of years ago”. The answer is still a mystery … but one thing’s certain.

“They weren’t the same gloves I agreed”, revealed Fury.

“After the fight, I had it from good sources not to touch anything in the changing room because they might try to drug me”. “I’m the toughest, the strongest and the fastest heavyweight he’s faced”.

Feeling Christmassy at his media day (Jon Super/PA) “I don’t care”.

“I’m going to enjoy what I’ve done and I’ll make a decision on boxing later”.

– Sang a rather bad, off-key version of I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith to the crowd following the fight. Fury’s father John threatened to call the fight off before Klitschko cut off his wraps and started again. “For some reason my feet were more affected than any other part of my body”. I’m not here about the money, because, let’s face it, the next fight with Wladimir Klitschko is going to be for a lot of money. “There will be a rematch”, Klitschko, whose record now stands at 64 wins and four defeats, said in a ringside interview.

“I’m not thinking about anything at the moment, I’m just living the dream”.

“If it was tomorrow, I could beat him”, Wilder recently told Forbes regarding Klitschko. Fury said via DailyMail. “I don’t hate you, but I want to destroy you and your career”.

“I didn’t want to take drinks or food from anyone”.

Following his unanimous points victory in Dusseldorf, Germany, Manchester boxer Fury ruled out fighting “fraud” David Haye, who twice pulled out of bouts between the two. A bitter resentment towards Haye lingers over that for pulling out late in 2013 and then in early 2014.

“I didn’t give Klitschko any rounds, even. I thought I outboxed him almost all of the rounds”. Fury said that Haye caused him “mental and physical torture”, so the drugging claims don’t appear to be too out-of-character. Until he loses, Fury will be the most entertaining boxing champ in a long time. Let him fight the next challenger. If he gets mandatory for the WBA, he can have the WBA. I just don’t think he’s going to get the fight until he raises his profile on the world stage.

There was a change in Fury post-fight. “We’ve been trying for a kid for about two years and nothing has happened but we finally found out that she’s five weeks pregnant yesterday”, said Fury.

Tyson Fury is basking in the glow of his new status of world champion. The Englishman stunned Wladimir Klitschko this weekend in Germany to win the WBA IBF and WBO belts
