Bloodborne Servers taken Offline for Emergency Maintenance

Sony has not yet revealed the Bloodborne 1.08 patch notes in English yet as far as we can see, but we can bring you a heads-up thanks to a Japanese translation.

“We are now conducting emergency maintenance on the game servers”, the post reads.

Kotaku speculates the “exploit” in question is one which reared its head after The Old Hunters DLC was released. It’s not unusual for a new expansion or DLC pack for a game to have some initial bugs, but several days seems like a long time to keep the servers down for maintenance.

This would definitely constituent taking the game’s servers offline for a “a few days”.

People attempting to play Bloodborne online, perhaps to join The League, the game’s new faction that centers around online interactions, will experience some temporary difficulties.

“We’ve received some really important feedback about an exploit and serious issues that exist in the game”.

If From Software is indeed looking to fix a free DLC exploit, it wouldn’t want to publicize the fact, as that would only lead more players to try and snag the extra content without paying. For starters, fans can go beast mode with this guide, and take The Old Hunters by storm as a grizzled and feral monster. Bearing that in mind, hopefully servers will be back online sooner rather than later.
