Judging by that, it’s a fair assumption that Outlander’s second season is going to cover many months in only a handful of episodes.

In the first teaser trailer for season two, viewers get their first look at a very pregnant Claire, though that won’t hold the newlyweds back from their passion that made the first season so steamy. This show has developed a fan following for being engrossing entertainment, and it seems like tonally and content-wise you are getting a nice evolution from what you had in season 1.

Starz split the first season in half, but that’s not the plan for the upcoming season, for which no official premiere date has been set. This doesn’t look like the typical, stuffy period pieces we often see from cable networks.

However, armed with the knowledge of what lies ahead, Claire and Jamie must race to prevent a doomed Highland uprising, and the extinction of Scottish life as they know it.

Executive producer Ronald Moore previously said “Outlander” season 2 release date could be around March or April next year.
