Have you downloaded the news iOS 9 public beta yet? Apple also recommends the same and, therefore, it is advisable to be mindful and not install the software on your main iPad or iPhone. And before installing the upgrade, it’s smart to back up your devices first. The iOS 9 Beta is now live for anyone with an iPhone or iPad to download.
The supplemental update reportedly “fixes an issue that may cause some 32-bit apps to quit unexpectedly”, Apple said.
All three previous versions of the iOS 9 beta had been limited to developers, with the last arriving on Wednesday.
Because of this integration into the operating systems, now when a user signs into a new device with their Apple ID (or to iCloud on the browser), the verification code is automatically pushed to all the trusted devices.
Visit the OS X Beta Program guide for the latest information about the El Capitan beta and how to submit feedback.
With this in mind we suspect the imminent release of the OS X 10.11 public beta download, and could even go live any day now.
Otherwise, if you can keep using Google maps for your public transit schedules until September, we’d advise just waiting it out.
Out of the iOS-run devices, about 84% are updated with iOS 8, while 14% have iOS 7, and only 2% have iOS6, reports Apple. The program was met with such approval that a limited public beta of iOS 8.3 followed the next year.
You can sign up for access on the Apple website.
Apple also has a guide with step-by-step instructions on how to get both betas.
Now you’re ready to go get the El Capitan software. But the most welcome enhancement is a change to the Spaces bar, which now lets you take an app out of full screen mode or two apps out of Split View.
The new beta makes use of the screen estate that the iPad provides and now has app folders with 4×4 arrangement as opposed to the 3×3 arrangement, which now allows you to save up to 105 apps per folder.
