Manchester City agree to sign Sterling from Liverpool
Raheem Sterling’s move to Manchester City this summer is edging closer, with the 20-year-old now reported to miss Liverpool’s pre-season tour after talks between the two clubs.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has insisted that his old club would be getting a good deal were they to sell young winger Raheem Sterling for a reported £49m fee.
The England global has been at the centre of a contract stand-off after he turned down a new £100,000-a-week offer by the Anfield hierarchy in April.
In 129 appearances and four seasons, Sterling has only scored 23 goals.
Confirmation of the agreement brings to a conclusion one of the more protracted and acrimonious transfer story-lines of the summer with City’s persistent efforts to secure the player finally proving successful.
Unfortunately, his final year with us was marred by the speculation over his contract and his unsavoury relationship with the Liverpool fans following an interview with the BBC.
Sterling will be joining a side who finished second last season in Manchester City and can guarantee him Champions League football.
“I’m not happy with all that carry-on”.
He was then absent for two days, citing illness, before returning to Melwood on Friday where he was informed he would be subject to disciplinary action if he refused to join the squad on tour.
The Gunners were the early favorites to snag Sterling, but Liverpool reportedly desired a player or two to be included in the package as they were unwilling to accept only monetary compensation. Looking at his record, though, City could become the Premier League’s laughing stock pretty soon. “The fans have shown him great support, they want him to stay and I believe that he should too”, Gerrard told Sky Sports from Los Angeles where he made his debut for LA Galaxy on Saturday.

And if his stats from last season are anything to go by than a player who is unstoppable at the top of his game, is going to have to put the effort in on the training pitch.
