Police say the accident occurred around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Pemberton Road.
18 students, two teachers, a teacher’s aide and the driver were on the bus at the time. Herbert said he anticipated that the injured would be transported to Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly.
Sgt. Joseph Little tells Philly.com the vehicle was “traveling at a high rate of speed and may have been passing other cars”. Their identities were not immediately released. Police say a Volkswagen Passat collided with the school bus carrying the Lenape Valley High School swim team, two coaches, and the bus driver.
Police say two people who were in the auto were pronounced dead.
