Spanish radio station Cadena COPE is now reporting that the Spanish coach has agreed a deal with the Etihad outfit to manage them next season.
That was never likely to put an end to speculation linking Guardiola, who is also out of contract next summer, with City but Pellegrini is not distracted from his job. “I could see myself coaching here one day.’ Guardiola has always felt a deep admiration, nearly veneration, for the legendary teams and players of Europe”. And Rummenigge reiterated Bayern’s plans heading into the winter break, with the club hopeful of a happy outcome.
“We only had (Kingsley) Coman available to go one on one”, the Catalan said. “And I don’t say that just because he is our coach at the moment”.
The Bayern Munich boss has always been a target for City, with chief executive Ferran Soriano and sporting director Txiki Begiristain hoping to be reunited with Guardiola after their sustained success at former club Barcelona.
German super club Bayern Munich are anxious they didn’t do enough to secure Pep Guardiola for next season and keep him from considering a move to the English Premier League. We will have the talks, which will be after the Hannover game on the 19th of December. ‘The coaches come in and at some point they leave. And so, the Telegraph report that Guardiola would prefer a move to the historical Old Trafford, whom he is flirted with in the past, than the Blue half of Manchester.
Pellegrini, 62, signed a one-year extension to a contract that was due to expire at the end of the season during the summer.
