It is ironic that these latest payments to agents figures come out at a time when the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) are trying to ramp up the campaign simply to try and get Premier League clubs to cut ticket prices for away fans to £20 (Twenty’s plenty campaign).
Cherries drafted in a number of new recruits to fortify their push for promotion from the Championship and to prepare for their debut season in the top flight.
A staggering £1billion has been spent by clubs over the past 12 months – £870million of that during the summer transfer window alone. Artur Boruc, Adam Federici and Sylvain Distin all joined Cherries on free transfers during this period, while Joe Bennett, Christian Atsu and Kenwyne Jones arrived on loan.
Premier League clubs as a whole paid £129.8m to agents from October 2014 to September 2015, up from £115m.
The total spent in the Championship was £26.1m, £3.2m in League One and just £1m in League Two.
