LeBron on Kobe: “I wanted to be just like him”

As such, on NBA TV Tuesday night, Chris Webber, Greg Anthony and Ernie Smith spoke following Kobe’s introduction in Philadelphia, where the Lakers are facing the Sixers (#GoSixers) and Bean plied his trade at Lower Merion High School. But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.

“As you get older, you just can’t react as you used to”, he said.

But don’t expect Bryant to start crying for the world to see. I don’t know. It won’t really make sense next year when you see the Lakers and you don’t see Kobe in a uniform. “I’m just not going to do it. But I certainly embrace the city and I love everything that it’s taught me”.

“Hope you can live a little bit more”. The decision was not totally unexpected, given that Bryant has said many times in recent weeks that he was considering making his 20th National Basketball Association season his last. NBC10’s Aundrea Cline-Thomas was there as Kobe visited Luke’s Steaks Monday, a day before his final game in Philly.

“I didn’t hold up my end of the bargain in 2009 for the fans, for us, to meet in the Finals”, James said, referring to the 2009 campaign when the Cavs had a 66-16 record but were upset by the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals.

“He’s not in the best situation right now”, said Knicks guard Sasha Vujacic, who won two championships with Bryant in Los Angeles. In the form of a poem, Bryant poetically stated that this will be his last season with the team.

“The coolest thing is the blessings that I’ve received from other players”. I loved it! I was like: this guy’s all about winning.

In a December 5 game in 2012, Bryant scored his 30,000th point of his career in a win over New Oreans at the Smoothie King Center after hitting a 3-foot jumper in the second quarter that made the crowd stand and cheer.

And Bryant is averaging 31.1 minutes per game, second-most on the team behind Jordan Clarkson (31.6).

Bryant said Downer taught him the midrange game. “He came in thinking he was going to be great, he saw himself being great and he was great”.

Bryant, who has already cemented his legacy as one of the game’s all-time greats, has suffered quite the downslide in his level of play through the past couple of years, thanks largely to injuries. I’m talking about back in the USC days, but mostly just listen to him talk. “Somebody I care about, have a lot of respect for, it’s always hard when greatness like Kobe decides to hang it up”.
