Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla injury woe to Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez’s hamstring injury must be the most painful of all as he limped off while Laurent Koscielny and Santi Cazorla also sustained knocks on a painful afternoon at Carrow Road.

The blows come just a month before the opening of the January transfer window, which will give the normally prudent Wenger the opportunity to bolster his resources.

Wenger felt his side lacked their usual sharpness as the visitors failed to get the three points which would have taken them level with league leaders Manchester City.

“After the game Wenger said he had a slight issue with Olivier Giroud and Hector Bellerin but Sanchez is the most important player of the three and should have been brought off when the game was dead”.

If the manager was to take every niggle and injury concern into account, fielding a completely fit XI could well reduce the team’s overall quality†” another sacrifice fans would assuredly be unwilling to accept.

He said: “We have to go through that spell. What happened on the pitch was not a great experience but we need to try and bounce back so we are ready for the next game”. There’s more of an edge to Lewis as he hasn’t been involved but I’m really pleased for him and the group.

“The players are there to play football and not to be rested when the press decides they need to be rested”, Wenger told reporters. I fear it’s not. We don’t know if he’s hurt a knee ligament or a kick on the nerve.

“Koscielny got a kick on his hip. I must say with all humility we are not in a position where we can predict (injuries) despite all our tests.

“He has a knee problem, Sanchez has a hamstring problem and Koscielny has a hip problem.

Liverpool have lost only once in 10 games since Klopp succeeded the sacked Brendan Rodgers and finished the weekend four points below fourth-place Arsenal, who occupy the last of the Champions League places.

“There are plenty of players across Europe who play in every single game. If he [Sanchez] played today [against Norwich] and he scored he [Wenger] would have said, ‘I was right to play him’, but he got an injury so we are obviously going to say he should have rested him, ” continued Henry.
