Much Has Changed Since Giants-Redskins First Game

Manning has 20 games with three or more interceptions since his rookie season in 2004, and according to ESPN Stats and Information, no other player has more than 13 in that same span. Although he threw those two touchdown passes to make it a game late in the fourth quarter, it was too little, too late and interceptions like the one below turned out to be incredibly costly.

‘I’m going to come into work tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and for the rest of the week and this year and give it my all, ‘ he said. The Giants must maintain their poise and understand that they can control Kerrigan – his stat line showed one tackle in Week 3 – so there is no need to overreact. “When we’re on, we’re on, and when we’re off, we’re off. We just have to be consistent with that light switch”.

“Why weren’t we as hungry in the first half as (we were) in the second half, I seriously can’t speak for everybody”, Amukamara said. “We did nothing at all”. Sure, there are still a lot of problems in the secondary and lines. “We’ve just got to continue winning games and driving the vehicle – right into the playoffs”. But the Giants made it clear the local rivalry does not top their list of concerns.

The status of Pugh, who has missed the last two games, for Sunday still id not clear, as head coach Tom Coughlin said on Monday that he didn’t have any evidence that Pugh might be ready for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

The win was important because it keeps Indy tied with Houston for the division lead. When Mike Shanahan and Kyle Shanahan ran the Redskins offense, the rushing attack was a primary focus; Washington drew up 35 or more carries in 10 games from 2012 to 2013, including 40 or more four times. “I don’t know everyone else’s mindset but we came out slow”.

It was a bad day for Eli Manning and the Giants, who fell to 5-6 after losing to Washington.

Manning saw deflected passes intercepted on New York’s first two drives of the game, but Washington couldn’t capitalize. That means it’s Washington, improbably, in the playoffs.

But given where the Redskins have been lately, they’ll take it.

The Giants are 2-4 in their last six games, a stretch that includes a loss in New Orleans in which they scored 49 points, and another to then-undefeated New England, 27-26, on a 54-yard field goal with one second left. They followed a 33-point victory with a 28-point loss. It sets up a must-win game against the equally desperate Jets next Sunday that should unleash enough collective angst among the teams’ fans to keep therapists’ sofas filled for the week.

“There is no explanation – no good explanation – for that”, Beckham said.

“We knew early on we’ve got to knock the receivers off their rhythm”. “We felt like it was going to start in the trenches, and we played a hell of a game”. Kirk Cousins led a wild comeback but the team was still down 30-24 when the Redskins got the ball with 2:24 left. “We have a mutual respect for each other”, Jackson said. “We’re excited that we have another game this week to go out and prove ourselves”.

The NFC East is still very much up for grabs, so the number four seed could be nearly anyone in that division. “Guys just have to be excited about that”. “We have to prepare for the Jets”. It’s only a playoff team right now because of its awful division. I don’t think it was part of our effort or understanding the offense or not. “I thought our desire to do it was there”.
