Black pastors press Trump on tone during closed-door meeting
Two pastors from the Richmond area offered different opinions of how the meeting went down. We had a wonderful time, a wonderful dialogue, wonderful fellowship, wonderful interaction.

Although the event was earlier announced to have been cancelled, the meeting between Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump and more than 100 black pastors pushed through on Monday in Trump Tower in New York City.
Trump’s recent events have sometimes taken on a darker tone, with violent clashes between supporters and protesters and angry tirades against reporters in the room.
But there was no wide-ranging endorsement from the group, some of whom had said they were surprised when the gathering was advertised as such by Trump’s Republican presidential campaign. Another young man draped in an American flag was prioritizing his own needs, saying “I just have to pee”.
A reporter asked Trump about the “backlash” from several black ministers who condemned the meeting.
Despite sending out a press release that clearly stated the coalition would endorse Trump, spokeswoman Katrina Pierson attempted to save face during a CNN interview by calling the whole debacle a simple mixup. The billionaire reality TV star said he couldn’t have mocked Kovaleski because he had never seen him.
“I do think that pressure was put on them when they heard there was a meeting by people that maybe disagree with certain things”.
“If your pastor tells you they’re going to NY on Monday, I need you to call them out”, Bryant said”.
“If I do this, it could be he’s playing too cute, Trump said”.
According to Trump, the pastors discussed a range of issues with him, such as the high unemployment rate among black youth and controversial police shootings.
When he got a chance to address Trump, he was fairly direct in his questioning. “Black lives are very important”.
Mr. Trump routinely uses overtly divisive and racist language on the campaign trail.

“Anytime you go to listen to someone other than the normal Democrat rhetoric that we’re fed, here comes the minions to chase after us to say ‘get back on the plantation, ‘” he said.
