Cruz: Republicans are not the “condom police”

At a town hall event in Iowa, Cruz responded to an audience member asking about “making contraception available to women who want to control their own bodies” by rejecting criticism of the Republican Party’s actions on reproductive health, and mocking 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton by calling her the “condom police”. I applaud Cruz for his use of the male barrier method-and his prudent contribution to responsible population growth-but his politics wouldn’t afford many others the choice to do the same. “It’s going to be a sad day, but we will hit back-I promise”.

Cruz says his approach is modeled after Republican hero Ronald Reagan’s after the 1980 election. “So, yes, anyone who wants contraceptives can access them, but it’s an utter made-up nonsense issue”, Cruz said at a campaign stop in Bettendorf, Iowa. In my view, we have no dog in the fight of the Syrian civil war”, he said, charging Rubio and Clinton “are repeating the very same mistakes they made in Libya.

Cruz declared that there was only one Republican professor at his law school alma mater, Harvard, but there were at least 12 communists.

It may be true that that Cruz has never met anyone who wants to ban condoms.

John Kasich tweeted out an anti-Trump video created by his campaign just minutes before he spoke at Iowa State University.

“Well, many of you know that I was considered an outsider”, Cain said.

Christie said he was the best the candidate to defend the United States, and that Cruz and Rubio couldn’t match his gubernatorial experience and tenure prosecuting terrorists as a U.S Attorney. “There are no outsiders”.

“It is a bit of a romance”, Trump told CNN at the September rally.

A CBS News survey in November of 2011 showed Georgia business executive Herman Cain leading the Republican primary field by 3 percentage points over both Gingrich and Romney. “You go aha! The condom police”, Cruz said as the crowd laughed. It’s a template that other conservatives might consider following when the media demands they answer Clinton’s charges about the War on Women. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it’s okay to rough up black protesters, because you’re not one.

Their lack of experience has been likened to that of President Barack Obama before he was elected, Hagle noted, but the two senators still have more government experience than outsiders Trump, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.
