Adele’s 25 is breaking sales records in the US
Fans were extremely eager for “25” to hit shelves, as it had been almost five years since Adele released new music.

Billboard reports that since Nielsen began tracking music sales in 1991, no album has sold more copies in a single week than 25: it racked up sales of 3.48 million units, of which 3.38 million were pure album sales. According to Nielsen Music, now that its first week is over, its sales score up more than three million in the USA, which not only beats the United States record sales for any album but also crushes the record for the first week sales. The previous record was held by *NSYNC’s “No Strings Attached”, which sold 2.4 million records during its opening week in 2000.
25 has also already become the highest-selling album of 2015, besting Taylor Swift’s 1989, which has sold 1.8 million copies thus far.
Adele has only gone and broken another U.K. Charts record with her third studio album, 25.
Oh, and if you’re tired of Taylor Swift and her #squadgoals you may be interested to know that, thanks to Adele, 1989 is no longer the best-selling album of 2015. Early Billboard projections had her comeback album, 25, going double-platinum in its first week.
Adele uses her powerful voice and talent to tell us an authentic story that we can relate to across her songs. Adele managed to sell 1,682,840 physical copies of 25 in the USA and 1,645,152 digital copies.
That means Adele outsold the previous record-holders by more than one million.
“It is astonishing she was able to carry through so much since her tiny small girl brain is consumed with ideas of bottles and diapers”, tweeted Ryanne Ball.
“You looked at those numbers and thought you’d never see those numbers again”.
Grammy Award victor has added a new bodyguard to her security team and the media is raving about the Holland native who once held the Mr. Europe title.

At the time of writing, Adele’s video for “Hello”, the lead single taken from the new album, is sitting at just over half a billion views, a number it racked up in just a few weeks.
