Two children found safe after abduction in stolen vehicle

The two children were waiting for their dad in his vehicle parked outside a business in Olathe, Kansas.

The search began around 6 p.m.at a tire shop near West Elm and South Kansas Avenue; police found the girls about two hours later a half-mile away.

Eyewitnesses said the suspect was fleeing a nearby auto mechanic shop where he had attempted to steal another vehicle until being confronted by a witness.

Two young girls who were the subject of an Amber Alert in Olathe, Kansas, have been found safe. The Vehicle had two children, 2 years old and 6 years old, in it when it was stolen. They also tweeted the alert which said that they were trying to locate a missing maroon 2009 GMC Acadia KS licence plate 617HNH.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m., Olathe police announced that they had found the vehicle, with the children in side and apparently safe.

The girls’ father Luis Fragoso and aunt Juana Flores talk to KSHB. A white male suspect in his 40’s remains on the run.

Fragoso added that the girls were unshaken by their ordeal, adding that one of them had slept through the incident.
