Star Wars Battlefront Review: May The Forces Be With You
The release of the game reboot has been a success so far as it many players who had anticipated the game seem to be quite satisfied with it. Though there may be glitches here and there, it doesnt look like gamers will stop playing “Star Wars Battlefront” anytime soon.

Vehicles feature heavily in some of the larger game modes. My excitement for the film is ridiculous so the new Star Wars Battlefront game is perfectly timed to get me ready for the new movie. Rather than a sequel, this is a full reboot of the series with all new game modes unique to “Star Wars” and specialty weapons based on the original trilogy. The Battle of Jakku DLC might have more free things in store in the coming months, as the DLC is free for all players. My team of Rebels had taken a drop pod and were holding position until we’d successfully captured it, while Stormtroopers poured into the locale in attempt to grab it for themselves. Not only do you need to wait to unlock different weapons and upgrades (which are displayed as cards, that you make into a hand of three to play with), but even when you do attain that level, you then have to purchase it with in-game credits.
Every way to play touched upon so far involves playing with your fellow man, but there is a way to play Battlefront on your own (or with a friend over local and online co-op).
But the main characters aren’t the only one’s who have changed in that time.
Sure, we have some idea that Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren and Phasma must fit in here somewhere, but even today’s Battlefront event didn’t have the answers we were searching for. Battling in an X-Wing against TIE fighters is probably the best example as the infamous elephant + auto on a wet freeway sound can be heard circling your X-Wing. Some are just plain old TDM which are fine to get started but most players will want to quickly move to the objective based rounds. Character animations are awesome especially considering this is a game that relies on them very little. From the long, low “whoooooop” of speeders in the distance on Endor, to the marching shudder of the Empire’s mighty AT-ATs, Battlefront has a sense of immersion that few games can match. There’s nothing like seeing red blaster bolts flying back and forth in scenes reminiscent of The Arena from Episode II and knowing they’re all real players. They didn’t show much in 2013, but excitement has slowly ramped up for the past two years-excitement that has continued to build around the Star Wars property in general.

There’s not too many fixes being thrown at Battlefront right now. That’s where you’ll see the downed Star Destroyer, though the map boundaries keep it forever out of reach. The combination of the maps and the paths that the droids take make this a fun and exciting game mode, and one of my favorites. While the campaign felt a polished experience, it ultimately wasn’t enough to stay interesting for all of its lengths and take a stand in comparison with older Call of Duty games.
