Marco Rubio in second place in latest national Quinnipiac poll
And, Cruz’s trend line is quite clear and quite good. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.

“Some people who were backing the outsiders are backing up and maybe thinking, we want someone with a little bit of experience in how government works”, Hagle added. And now, he is calling Rubio a proponent of “military advernturism” that, he says, has helped Muslim groups.
The Quinnipiac poll is the second this week to show Cruz moving in behind Trump among Iowa Republicans, and the Texas senator appears to be on the rise in the Hawkeye State.
Cruz did not spare his fellow Republicans in his rant, accusing them of timidity in the face of Democratic criticism on women’s health issues during the 2012 election cycle.
“The shooting on Friday was at, as you know, a Planned Parenthood clinic, a place where lots of women get healthcare they need – breast exams, STD testing, contraception, and, yes, safe and legal abortions”, Clinton said at dinner for the Democratic Party in New Hampshire over the weekend. This has hardly endeared him to Republicans.
Ted Cruz’s momentum isn’t bringing joy to the GOP senators, mostly because Ted Cruz has built his Senate career and presidential campaign on his willingness to stick it to the Republican establishment, claims the same source.
But even in those cases, this isn’t an argument against the legality or even the use of contraception, no matter how much Hillary Clinton would like to portray it as such. Cruz has excoriated the Florida Senator for sponsoring amnesty legislation.
Sanders does as well or better in head-to-head match-ups with Republicans, leading Trump 49%-41%, Rubio 44%-43%, Cruz 49%-39% and Carson 47%-41%.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has 5% support, and no other candidates top 3%. Yet, only seven of those endorsements came since September, whereas all but one of Rubio’s backers stepped up since then, so momentum seems clearly on the senator’s side in the endorsement primary. It’s a fight that reinforces existing narratives about the two candidates: Cruz has an edge on immigration (at least with conservatives), while Rubio is “stronger” on national security.
“I think he’s the natural heir for Carson supporters, especially in a state like Iowa”, she said. “That is just part of the record, it is nothing personal”. “You’re trying to think, ‘How do I run?’ Well you can’t run on the economy, because we have the lowest percentage of Americans working any year since 1977”. Rubio is slightly ahead of Trump among the “moderately conservative”, while Trump dominates among “moderate to liberal” Republicans.

But pressed three times by ABC moderator Martha Raddatz, Kasich refused to definitively say if he would back Trump as the nominee, saying Trump is “not going to” be the nominee.
