The 28-year-old striker was voted the Player of the Month in July and August, the MLS Player of the Week three times, and earned 10 MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week selections.

Giovinco is both the first Toronto FC player and the first Italian to win the MLS MVP award in league history.
“I’m very proud and honoured to receive the award for MLS MVP”, Giovinco said in a statement. On Sunday evening, he was the only TFC player to be selected for the MLS Best XI for 2015.
“We have a strong core group of players that have gained valuable experience over the course of the season”.
Players who remain unselected after the second stage of re-entry will be available to any MLS club on a first come, first serve basis.
Giovinco is also a finalist for the league’s Goal of the Year, with his mazy run versus the New York Red Bulls on October 14 up against a similar strike by Sporting KC’s Krisztian Nemeth.
The Toronto FC star had the most prolific individual season in MLS history, scoring 22 goals and adding 16 assists in 33 games, while also leading his team to its first playoff appearance. The victor of that competition will be announced later this week.
Giovinco also captured the MLS Golden Boot and Newcomer of the Year awards and was named to the North American league’s Best 11 all-star squad. He can break his own record by winning his fifth award this season before the weekend.
