Fury Ends Klitschko’s Heavyweight Reign
Fury took a small purse to have his shot at Klitschko, but boosted his earnings by betting £200,000 ($460,000 NZD) on himself to beat the champion and will be able to set his own figure for the rematch.

In speaking about a rematch, Klitschko said “we’ll see how the cookie crumbles”.
“I’ve said some stupid things”, Fury said after winning the belt.
“Japan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, America – wherever it has to be, it has to be”.
The victory came by a unanimous decision in Dusseldorf, Germany.
“There are a lot of different boxers and people who will have a lot of things to say about him”.
Fury now holds the WBO, IBF, WBU and IBO world boxing titles even though the fight was less a spectacle than many expected.
He said on Saturday night: “Why do I need to mention Deontay Wilder? Let’s have a laugh at his name shall we?” Probably the pound-for-pound king, whatever that means. That ended Klitschko’s reign as world champion after nine years, six months. I can feel when an opponent can hit me or not and at times he was jabbing and I was just getting out of there. Why would I be bothered about a novice like Wilder?
‘I knew all along I could win the fight.

The Mancunian, a 4/1 underdog, baffled Klitschko with a stylish, measured performance in which he utilised his height and youth perfectly to earn a superb win with scores of 115-112 twice and 116-111 despite being deducted a point for fouling.
“I never believed he would do it but he did”.
Since David Haye lost his heavyweight title in 2011 to Wladimir Klitschko, there has not been a British heavyweight champion until Tyson Fury’s victory in Germany last night. Others, like Klitschko’s surrender of his trio of heavyweight championship belts, simply fade away when you least expect it. I wasn’t given anything for free.
He then landed a bruising left uppercut in the ninth that wounded Klitschko’s right eye.
Klitschko started defensively and could not get out of his shell from the first round.

Combined with the level of skill that he showed in the ring along with an ability to execute the ideal game-plan that was formulated by his uncle and trainer, Peter Fury, the question now is whether or not he will be able to remain at the top.
