Kentish Town station: man arrested for ‘attempted murder’ after commuter

His attacker was said to have fled after the assault and boarded a northbound train heading towards High Barnet station.

Pat Hansberry, operations director for the Northern line, said: “We are aware of an incident at around 11.40 this morning at Kentish Town tube station”.

One witness described the moment it happened, urging fellow passengers to “stay safe”.

By mid-afternoon Northern line Tube trains were running normally, although not stopping at Kentish Town.

The 60-year-old said: “There were lots of police first of all so I thought it was a bomb, but then train staff indicated that someone was pushed, it was not an accident”. He looked in a bad way’.

One commuter posted to Twitter: ‘Don’t stand close to the edge on the underground – just witnessed a guy get pushed in front of a train at Kentish Town!

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after reports a person was pushed into path of London Underground train.

Eyewitnesses claim the man, who is now being treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service for his injuries, was pushed by another man at around 11:45am as a train came into the station.
