Democrats have said they are participating in that panel to be able to defend Planned Parenthood.

“Given that especially in the last few months that this rhetoric has picked up, these attacks have picked up and protest activity has picked up, we’re not going to let down our guard”.
Security at Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide has been tightened as a result, said the organization’s spokesman, Eric Ferrero. He credited security training of the staff at the Colorado Springs clinic for helping minimize the casualties there.
The joint motion today says the state will pay $51,000 in legal fees for Planned Parenthood Southeast’s attorneys if Thompson approves the motion.
When Republicans talk about “defunding” Planned Parenthood, as almost all of the GOP presidential candidates have, they’re talking about cutting off millions of patients from life-saving preventive care and a provider they know and trust. And I fear we have not seen the last of it.

Figures for 2015 had yet to be compiled, but the trend, according to the federation, is clear since the July release of the videos, which Planned Parenthood were doctored to misrepresent its stance.
