In Quinnipiac’s poll last month, Trump and Carson had been locked in a statistical dead heat. Trend lines matter more than anything else in national primary polling, and no one this side of Rubio has a better trend line than Cruz. Ted Cruz at 16 percent each. “So I think I will be (the nominee)”.

Rubio has emerged, lately, as the “logical” choice to lead the Republican field, and the general consensus, perhaps worn out on Donald Trump’s “tough love” approach to everything, is following suit.
But the blowhard real estate mogul?
Rubio’s support looks to be coming from the party’s center.

What’s more, the Texas senator has endorsed a “Personhood” policy, which would have the practical effect of banning common forms of birth control.
Seeking to make national security his issue, Christie – a former USA attorney and a current governor – also said that Rubio doesn’t have the kind of experience one needs in a president.

The Q poll also shows that Cruz has one very clear edge over Trump as the race moves forward: nearly no one said they wouldn’t support him. “With this guy we could see the next Mussolini if Trump gets elected”, said Leslie, who emphasized that he appreciated that Trump has raised important issues for Republicans.
