And the Argentina global, who turns 28 in June, says he wants to return to his childhood club at the age of 31 “if everything goes well”.
City are unlikely to be open to a deal, but should the player himself agitate for a move back to Spain – he played for Atletico Madrid before moving to Manchester – they could be forced to do business.
“I will return to Independiente when my contract with City expires”.

Aguero, City’s leading scorer with seven league goals this season, left the field in the second half of last weekend’s 3-1 win over Southampton and missed Tuesday’s 4-1 quarter-final win over Hull City in the League Cup.

With the Sky Blues sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League with 29 points from 14 matches, Aguero is now the club’s top goalscorer this season, with nine strikes in all competitions, despite a disrupted campaign so far. “If all goes well, at 31, I will return to my beloved club”.
