I asked Mourinho to change my position – Hazard

Eden Hazard was at a loss to explain his and Chelsea’s dramatic slump in form as the playmaker showed glimpses of his best in Saturday’s victory over Norwich.

“We spoke together before the Stoke game”, said Hazard.

Asked if he would accept the arrival of a superstar, Mourinho said: “Of course, yes, but not because I think only a superstar will help us to reach our objectives”.

“We were good in the movement and fluid and Hazard created chances for us and I think today was good for his confidence because he is a player that was not performing especially well”. And, against Norwich, it was the same.

“I didn’t start the season well, I know that”.

But in a report by BBC Sport, the 52-year-old manager denied the reports saying, “I am happy with my players, I trust the players”.

It has been suggested that Hazard’s relationship with Mourinho has deteriorated and he might may be angling for a transfer to Real Madrid.

“Me and the fans didn’t deserve to have our heart in our hands in the last four minutes”, Mourinho said. I heard a lot of things about this, but, no, everything is good with him. And every once in a while, even as the best manager he himself has ever known, he’s willing to even listen to others.

“I played a very good game against Stoke but we didn’t get a good result”, he added, referring to a 1-0 league defeat away from home earlier this month, Chelsea’s previous outing. “Maybe not this season because it will be hard, but next season and beyond”.

“I know for sure there are many pundits who were strikers and they know the feeling when you don’t score, you get heavier”.

“We did well enough not to have the last four minutes under pressure”. We could have scored four or five. “Yes, he can do much better, but again, yes, one goal is very important”, Mourinho said. With the Blues scheduled to pretty much play two fixtures each week for the foreseeable future, any negative vibes will have a snowball effect that could spell the end of Jose Mourinho’s second stint at Stamford Bridge.

Ultimately, Chelsea deserved the win which Mourinho and co. will no doubt be hoping can finally kickstart their dismal season.

Terry feels their performances have merited a greater points haul than they have achieved but is hopeful they can continue to improve after leapfrogging Norwich to go up to 15th position.
