To mark this year’s World AIDS Day (Dec. 1, 2015), HIV Alliance and Lane County Public Health Department are urging the community to remain vigilant in its conviction and dedication to end HIV/AIDS. With a growing world and the persistence of AIDS, the rate of infection has the potential to increase after years of reductions. This is the very extent of HIV and AIDS now.
Taking new WHO HIV Guidelines 2015 and latest (strong) scientific evidence into account, antiretroviral therapy (ART) must be provided to every PLHIV – this will not only help keep all PLHIV healthy and enable them to live normal lifespans, but also drastically reduce chances of any further HIV transmission. Health education on limiting risk factors such as high-risk sexual behaviors and intravenous drug use is the first line of defense against HIV infection. Providing affordable substance abuse and mental health treatment would be good next steps toward HIV prevention. People who are couch surfing.

Later, the Chief Minister formally launched the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) in the state which is scheduled to start from the next academic session in the schools of the state. They say the end of AIDS by 2030 is possible, but urgency is needed. There has also been a notable decrease in new HIV infections.

There’s a disparity between men and women as well. There have been substantial efforts by the Government, Development Partners (DPs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and Faith-Based Organisations (FBOs), private sector, and members of the communities in response to HIV and AIDS.
