No matter what kind of tree you choose, Dunn says the way to make it last throughout the holiday season is to make sure it always has plenty of water. Every Thanksgiving weekend, they head out together to pick out a Christmas tree.
USA farmers now have about 350 million trees in the ground at different stages of development, according to the Michigan Christmas Tree Association.

The state fire marshal says you should have a fire escape-plan with two ways out, and to not block your route with trees, gifts or decorations.
“Moved into Cascade in 1971 so coming here years and years it’s been decades, dozens of trees from this place”, Edgar said.

On Friday, the Williams family ventured out to the Red Flannel Tree Farm for their tree.
